REVIEW: Polpo, London – A Dinner Of Venetian Small Plates
With its menu of Italian small plates, excellent flavour combinations and candle-lit, relaxed ambience, Polpo is one of my favourite options for a casual dinner in London.
I’ll admit I’ve been to Polpo a few times before. The Soho restaurant is in my top five when it comes to tasty food that won’t break the bank.
With several branches in London plus another in Brighton, something is clearly working. Polpo’s creator Russell Norman’s formula is all about stripped-down interiors, flickering candles, exposed brickwork, and weathered furnishings. It’s not stiff or polished, quite the opposite in fact, and that’s what makes the experience so comfortable.
Amersham, Buckinghamshire: The Perfect 24-Hour Break From London
The top things to do in Amersham include visiting gourmet restaurants and charming cafes, enjoying the historic architecture and going on some beautiful walks too.
Chilterns Walks With Pubs: Circular Beaconsfield Walk
Looking for Chilterns walks with pubs? This circular Beaconsfield walk takes you through beautiful countryside and ends at the oldest pub in the country.
You may think the life of a travel blogger is all about jet-setting to far off lands, but sometimes it’s amazing exploring places much closer to home.
7 Beautiful European Cities You Haven’t Considered Visiting
From Seville and Tallinn, to Athens, Riga and St Petersburg, it’s time to venture away from the obvious and consider these lesser-visited cities in Europe.
When I think of my favourite European destinations, many of them are the tried and tested choices, with Barcelona sitting at the top of the list. But there are plenty of underrated European cities that are packed with all the good stuff – culture, top restaurants, beautiful architecture, and that a bit of adventure too!
So if you fancy shaking up your holiday habits, why not book a mini-break to check out a few of these less-visited choices?
Seville, Spain
I visited Seville a couple of years ago on a wonderful road trip around Andalucía. I absolutely loved Seville. I remember trying to drive around the city’s tiny, skinny streets, petrified of scraping the car against the walls! It’s a stunning city though, and along with the impressive Plaza De Espana, Real Alcázar de Sevilla and Seville Cathedral, I also loved discovering some great restaurants.
