The Best Autumn Holiday Destinations

Top Autumn Holiday Destinations

From Mexican adventures and snowy ski breaks, to festivals and Christmas markets, find out the best autumn holiday destinations.

The autumn. What a drag! It always feels so long doesn’t it? The countdown to Christmas is on, but with that comes dark mornings, bleak weather and a spell of mid-autumn misery.

So what better time to jet off somewhere new? If you book now at least you’ll have something to look forward to, and it’ll fill the gap nicely between now and Christmas. So what are the best autumn holiday destinations? Here are a few of my top suggestions…

Berlin

While there are plenty of Christmas markets popping up all over the UK, it’s just not the same as heading abroad for a more authentic celebratory experience. Drink bucket loads of mulled wine, try to stay upright on the ice rink and shop for handmade jewellery and Christmas gifts. Berlin is one of the top cities for the true festive fix! With over 50 different markets scattered across the city, you’ll want a few days to really explore it.

A Tour Of Provence, France – A Provence Travel Blog

Enjoying the incredible views in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France

Provence in France is peppered with rustic towers, impressive chateaus, rolling countryside and all the fresh produce you could dream of. Find out some of my favourite spots in this Provence travel blog.

This may have been a proper holiday for me… but after snapping away, there was no way I could keep these photos to myself!

My relationship with Provence started when I was 12 years old. After over a decade of holidays in the UK, my Dad decided it was finally time to head further afield. Not much further afield though! Off we went to Aix-en-Provence in the south of France, and checked into a beautiful villa with a pool. We spent our days exploring the lush countryside, looking forward to our 3pm ice creams and devouring steak frites in the evenings at tiny brasseries. I don’t remember much about the trip, apart from that the food was good… and the views were even better. Oh and the scent of lavender – that was definitely in the air!

So when my boyfriend was asked to be best man at a friend’s wedding in Provence, I couldn’t wait to return! We based ourselves at beautiful converted farmhouse Le Coeurisier (booked via Holiday Lettings) and while there enjoyed breakfast in the garden, country walks and outings to sleepy neighbouring  towns.

REVIEW: Weekend Brunch At Hakkasan, London

Delicious dim sum at Hakkasan, London

Hakkasan’s Weekend Brunch is a delicious, generous and beautifully boozy!

N.B. I reviewed Hakkasan’s Dim Sum Sunday menu, which has now been extended to run all weekend, under the name Hakkasan Weekend Brunch.

As I descended the dark staircase into Hakkasan’s Central London lair, I wondered what would await me. Emerging into an area of blue mood lighting, beautiful flowers and with the scent of jasmine and patchouli in the air, it felt like the entrance to a high-end spa.

Soon enough, the buzz became apparent. Divided into several seating areas, the restaurant was sleek, dark and sophisticated. Peeking through mahogany partitions, I could see a DJ playing a soothing chill-out mix while a fashionable crowd enjoyed fruity cocktails and steamers filled with brightly-coloured dim sum.
